I look at design, art, music, writing, story telling, problem solving, invention, engineering and all of our creative abilities as an extension of God’s creativity in us. We are creative because God was creative first. He wanted us to be able to share His joy of creating so we could better understand Him and appreciate the magnificence of His creativity.
No other creature on the earth has our abilities. I am amazed at what people come up with. Though a couch inspired by a park is a far cry from creating a park, it’s still pretty cool.
This couch, designed by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance for La Chance, was inspired by a Knoll original which drew inspiration by Queen Anne’s Lace, a beautiful but common flowering wild carrot. Lawrance used the idea and Rome’s largest park, the Villa Borghese as inspiration.
Given my love of nature and the science regarding the health benefits of trees, this makes me smile. Thought you might like it.
