Today, after all of the election hoopla, I needed some nature. Suzie was still asleep so I got up and headed for the Ocoee River basin to see what I could find.
This is Goforth Creek (yes, one word) as it enters the Ocoee. It was raining, wet and slippery but I still loved it.
I would probably still be there but the rain turned into a downpour That and I slipped on a rock in spite of my hiking pole and a lot of care. I caught myself well but sitting ignominiously in the wet leaves I got inspired to head home. I climbed/slid back down on my behind – the safest way to get down a mountain in slippery fall leaves in the rain.
Reminder to self – nature bites.
But my trip worked well for my purposes. I was reminded that everything is still there waiting for me at any time. All is under control. I’m a small piece of a huge puzzle.
The rain falls without my permission. Gravity still works. Life is sweet.
God is.
For you tech heads, I shot this and recorded the audio with my iPhone including the 12-string, mistakes and all. If I do much more than that I tend to turn everything into a career. Some of you might wish I’d done a second take but this was just supposed to be fun. Mostly it was.
The rest I’ll call adventure.
Fantastic! I would’ve much rather been slipping on wet leaves near GoForth Creek than sitting in my dreary cube today. Thanks for the vicarious adventure.
It would have been fun to have some company. Could have been the Soggy Bottom Boys riding again. But vicarious rocks would definitely feel better.
